Councils – Small, powerful groups
C200 organizes our hundreds of members into regional “Councils” of 10 to 12 women. These groups meet regularly, allowing members to form deep connections and receive personal support and inspiration from the women they know best. Many members say that their C200 Council is their closest and most valuable personal advisory group. If you have questions about Councils or would like to join or lead one, please contact Judy Waak-Pearce.

CEO – President, CalArk, Inc.
“CalArk follows own road map to growth” – Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
CalArk established their truckload operations in 1975 and within the last 3 years, the company has diversified its offerings into warehouse services and last mile solutions. With the significant growth e-commerce has had across many industries, CalArk made the decision to invest in a warehouse in Little Rock and begin down this business adventure. Many other motor carriers within the industry start in the “last mile” market segment by purchasing an established business that has serviced this specific market. CalArk built the warehouse and distribution division from the ground up, which is not common for businesses today. The company has now reached a 100 percent growth rate in the newly developed market.
“Information Is Key” – Commercial Carrier Journal With the ever-changing industry, CalArk realized they needed more ways to ensure it was maximizing it’s efficiencies and service across their operations. CalArk developed an in-house tool named the “Efficiency Auger” , which was spawned from internal data mining, data warehousing and performance management concepts. About a year and a half ago, Rochelle Bartholomew shared her vision of where she wanted the company to go and her VP of Business Development organized a team (two team members) of forward-thinking employees who were not afraid to address perceived limitations. The major focus of the auger is to solve problems of inefficiencies, which allows the company to identify wasted time down to the minute, allowing the company to attack inefficiency with surgical precision. CalArk also launched a “Balance Map” tool that increases operational efficiency by providing accurate and timely data which helps operations make decisions on freight demands quickly and effectively. The map is located on monitors on the operations floor and is also accessible by cell phone or computer through a web-link. A customer service scorecard was also developed internally to allow CalArk to take a proactive approach to customer service by identifying not only when a load is deemed late, but allows the company to assign the reason to identify the root cause. The main goal is to strengthen the partnership with their customers and show how important servicing them is to our business.
Former EVP of Brand & Product Marketing

How has your vision and/or your business helped shape your industry?
A: My mission has always been to make sure I can make a difference in people’s everyday lives. I have always worked with companies that people use everyday and as a result I think we have made a real, positive impact on people.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you can offer other women leaders?
A: Be true to yourself. Throughout my career I have been offered many opportunities. I have always made sure what I do is an extension of who I am, not the other way around. It’s important to maintain that focus and think of yourself first. In my opinion, it’s the only way to be a great leader.
Q: What is your personal motto?
A: Life is short, enjoy it and do something you love.
Q: How has your membership in C200 impacted you personally and professionally?
A: I joined C200 for all of the professional advantages, because I have always put my professional needs first. I never thought it would have such an impact on me personally. My experience as a member of C200 has been life-changing in ways I could never have imagined.
Q: What do you feel is the most important issue facing business leaders today?
A: Relevancy. If a company does not stay relevant it will not sustain.
